PHILOSOPHY

MATERIALS

When selecting materials, Pewpols partners exclusively with the renowned house of Mazzucchelli to develop custom 10mm and 12mm acetate blocks crafted solely for our brand. This level of collaboration is rare and is the result of years of relationship‑building with our team in Italy, who oversee every stage of creating the richest, most texturally refined and visually compelling colours for Pewpols.

Our design language is rooted in distinctive colour laminations, unique combinations that blend tones to create nuanced palettes found only in our collection. Each component, whether a front or a temple, requires twice the material, twice the time, and twice the precision, resulting in pieces that are unmistakably tactile, intentional, and inherently Pewpols.

PHILOSOPHY

LIMITED EDITIONS

At Pewpols, every piece that leaves our atelier is, by definition, a limited edition. Our collections are handcrafted in small, focused releases, and we never remake a design simply because it becomes popular. Instead, we prioritise evolution, continually exploring new techniques, materials, and ideas that push our craft forward.

Numbered pieces hold a special place in our world. Produced in batches of fewer than fifty, these editions are selected for their exceptional exclusivity, their distinct role within the collection, and the designer’s precise creative intent. Each one is numbered only when it truly serves a purpose.

Every frame carries its own internal code, with the final three digits indicating the batch number. This code is handwritten on each certificate and sent to you as part of the piece’s story. By reserving numbering for the rarest editions, their significance remains clear and meaningful, an approach that reflects the Pewpols way.

PHILOSOPHY

DESIGN

The design philosophy at Pewpols is intentionally simple. We are a house dedicated to haut vintage eyewear, drawing from archival references, elevating them with modern precision, and crafting each piece using the finest techniques in contemporary eyewear design. While our silhouettes are vintage‑inspired, our identity is unmistakably Irish, expressed through our core detailing, motifs, and the quiet attitude that defines the brand.

Our custom diamond pins are not decorative gestures but thoughtful nods to historical eyewear, an archival motif reimagined to be uniquely Pewpols. Our bespoke laminations are created to introduce tactility and depth, and we go further still: adding material where structure demands it in nose‑pad construction, sculpting stepped acetate along the temples, and engineering weighted wire cores to achieve a visually substantial yet minimal, lightweight feel.

Pewpols is not built on image or presentation. It is built on the discipline of making, on precision, on rigorous manufacturing standards, and on an unwavering commitment to producing eyewear of exceptional consistency and craft.

PHILOSOPHY

ITALY

The decision to make in Italy, or anywhere else, is not driven by convenience, ideology, or any other external factor. We didn’t choose Italy; we chose a small, exceptional group of makers who have become an extension of our brand. We place our own people on the ground, working side by side with them, not as distant clients, but as part of the same craft. That is what makes our approach unique, and it’s the reason our work happens in Italy.

Every stage of creating a Pewpols frame demands absolute precision: shooting the thickest wire cores into laminated acetate with perfect alignment, polishing and finishing without compromise, and maintaining consistency at every touchpoint. The location is secondary; what matters are the individuals. Our team in Italy is renowned as the best, sought after by many, but dedicated exclusively to making frames for Pewpols.
